P19,990 Cherry Mobile Superion is the first 'tablet phone' in the Philippines

Cherry Mobile is big, and we mean BIG! The homegrown brand officially outed the Philippines' first tablet phone, the Cherry Mobile Superion, not one hour ago and it looks like as though it's undercutting all of its competitors in more ways than one.

For starters, this Froyo-lovin', multitouchin', multitaskin' tablet sells for a mere P19,990. That makes it P15,000 cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Tab (if the rumored SRP holds true) and at least P2,010 cheaper than the Apple iPad (if the US SRP is to be followed). And unlike the Redfox Wizpad and the ASUS Eee Pad, this thing actually exists!

For the price, you get a 7-inch WVGA (480 x 800-pixel) capacitive touch screen, 3G/HSDPA connectivity, a 600MHz Qualcomm proc, and GPS capabilities, all running on the zippy Android 2.2. Our initial impression is quite good, with the unit operating smoothly and with build quality that does not resemble the horrific iPed in any way.

Like its smartphone counterparts, the Cherry Mobile Nova and the Cherry Mobile Magnum HD, the Superion will feature Cherry Mobile's proprietary Cherry Zone App (on top of Android Market, of course).

Cherry Zone gives CM users access to exclusive customization options such as wallpapers and programs such as Cherry Shop, an app store, and Cherry Messenger, a chat service. More on these features as we await our demo units.

Dual booting with EasyBCD

EasyBCD is a free tool to dual boot or multi boot into various operating systems on Windows Vista. If you have EasyBCD installed, it is very simple to boot either into Windows Vista or any other OS you want to try or test, including Linux, BSD, Mac OS X and any windows OS including windows 95, windows 98, Win 2003, windows XP etc.

EasyBCD is a free bootloader management and configuration tool for Windows Vista. It works on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of windows vista.EasyBCD does not modify the Bootsector or Master Boot Record (MBR). It is windows vista which installs the “BCD Bootloader” to the MBR and Bootsector.EasyBCD simply adds functionality to the BCD files, on your Windows Vista installation, to add features and make it a more capable bootloader. EasyBCD never touches the MBR, unless you specifically ask it to, namely when attempting to fix a corrupted bootloader, switch bootloaders, or backup/restore MBR images.

The Boot Process is a small binary program that starts other programs in a sequence. Typically there will be either 4 or 5 small programs. While the first program among the boot sequence programs is BIOS, the last program is usually the one that actually starts the operating system.

EasyBCD makes it extremely easy for end-users to boot into other operating systems, directly from Vista’s bootloader with minimal configuration. In order to multiboot Windows Vista with one or more of the supported Operating Systems, you must first configure the settings in the EasyBCD Add/Remove Entries page. Depending on the operating system you wish to configure, the steps may vary.

You can find the supported operating systems and the configuration steps here.

EasyBCD is very simple to use and the Setup wizards can easily take you through the setup process. EasyBCD is an amazing solution for anyone who wants to dual boot or multi boot into several different operating systems, on the same PC.

EasyBCD doesn’t actually require Windows Vista itself to install, but it does require the Vista Bootloader.
